Rabat – FIFA is set to officially announce on December 11 that Morocco will join Spain and Portugal as host countries for the 2030 World Cup.
In preparation for this historic occasion, Arriyadia will offer extensive media coverage of the announcement, which will occur during the FIFA extraordinary congress on December 11.
It is worth mentioning that the governing body of world football unanimously approved the voting procedure for selecting the World Cup host countries on October 3.
The joint bid from Morocco, Spain, and Portugal represents a pivotal moment in the tournament’s history, as it brings the World Cup to the region for the first time since its inception.
Recently this week, former Spanish football star Andrés Iniesta rallied support for the joint bid from Spain, Morocco, and Portugal to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
Iniesta shared his enthusiasm for the event, noting to Cadena SER its potential to elevate football as a truly global sport. He suggested that the scope and ambition of this bid surpass those of previous tournaments, promising a transformative experience for the host nations.
The 2030 FIFA World Cup will mark the 24th edition of the Men’s World Cup, uniting the world’s top national teams in a grand celebration of football.
Among the Moroccan venues mentioned for the tournament is the iconic Grande Stade Hassan II in Ben Slimane, which boasts a capacity of 108,800.
The country is also preparing other sites for the prestigious football event, including the renovated Agadir Stadium (46,000 capacity), Fez Stadium (49,200 capacity), Marrakech Stadium (42,800 capacity), Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat (63,900 capacity), and Tangier’s Grand Stadium, which can accommodate 71,000 spectators.
