Marrakech – The first edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo, organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, is set to take place in Rabat from May 24th to 26th.

 

According to Telquel, this event will serve as a platform dedicated to promoting recreational activities in Morocco and across Africa, bringing together professionals from the sector, both nationally and internationally.

 

Among these professionals are creators, developers, and designers of video games.

 

This event highlighted the ambitious project ”Rabat, Gaming City,” led by the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communications, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, and which aims to position Morocco as a producer of video games and a major player in this global trend,” states the same source.

 

As per the ministry, this project also aims to “stimulate innovative sectors such as programming and artificial intelligence.”

 

In recent years, the gaming industry has grown significantly in recent years, both in Morocco and throughout Africa.

 

With the rise of technology and increased access to the internet, gaming has grown in popularity as a kind of entertainment and as a booming industry with enormous potential for economic growth.
