New York, January 26, 2012

American Diva Mariah Carey will take part at the 11th edition of the Mawazine festival that will be held in Rabat during the period from 18 to 26 May 2012. She will add to the number of renowned stars, such as Shakira, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston and Elton John, who performed in the previous edition of the Mawazine Festival.

According to the festival’s website, Mariah Carey is expected to debut during her much-anticipated concert one or two new songs that she recorded last September as part of her new album.

This will be her first confirmed concert since she gave birth to her twins Moroccan and Monroe last year.

Mariah’s passion about Morocco and its culture is no mystery to anyone. She installed in her apartment in New York, a Moroccan living room in which her husband, Nick Cannon, proposed to her. As a tribute to this happy memory, in April 2011, she named one of her twins Moroccan Scott.

When one knows that Mariah rarely performs in music festivals, her confirmed participation in the Mawazine Festival comes as a testimony to her love for Morocco.
