Fez – The talented young Moroccan artist, Dounia Batma, is calling Moroccans to support her and vote for her to win the title of the first edition of Arab Idol TV program, broadcast on MBC channel.

Dounia Batma, from Morocco, and Karmen Soulaymen, from Egypt, are the two finalists who will compete for the title of Arab Idol, which will be a turning point in the winner’s life for all the advantages it offers.

The winner will get three significant prizes: a contract with Plantinum Records Company, which will produce Arab Idol winner’s first album, an ad with Pepsi Company and a Chevrolet Corvette.

In a press conference at one of the hotels in Casablanca, Dounia Batma expressed her great happiness and satisfaction with the prestigious success that she has managed to realize and with the wonderful reception by her fans at Mohammed V airport in Casablanca.

Dounia Batma seized the opportunity to clarify that the launch of her artistic career from the Middle East is due to the opportunities that can be offered there but not in Morocco, adding that “the launch of my artistic career from the East won’t affect my contribution to the promotion of Moroccan art, and won’t also affect my pride of my mother tongue”.

A lot of Moroccans have noticed how Dounia Batma sticks to her mother tongue whenever she is asked to speak in front of the audience on MBC channel, and she doesn’t switch to another Arabic dialect as most Moroccan artists usually do.

During the press conference, Batma emphasized the fact that she would always make sure to sing and communicate in Moroccan dialect. She added that she sees Asmae Monawar and Houda Saad as two good examples of Moroccan artists who are proud of Moroccan art.

Concerning her former experience in Studio 2M and her elimination from the contest , which stirred a lot of controversy at that time, Dounia didn’t want to give straight answers considering her participation in Studio 2M, which she just described as a mere experience that she prefers not to talk about all the time and that what matters to her now is that she is known at the Arab world level.

Dounia seized the chance to express her admiration of the voice of the Jordanian candidate Youssef Arafat, who was eliminated from the program last Saturday, claiming that he deserves Arab Idol title.

From another perspective, and according to Al Massae daily newspaper, there is some news that tells that Maroc Telecom Company will offer a free SMS service to its clients this Friday and Saturday so as to support and vote for Dounia Batma to win Arab Idol title.

According to the news website ‘Goud’, Dounia Batma declared that king Mohammed VI voted for her in previous phases of the program of Arab Idol.
