Rabat – The Moroccan Cinematographic Centre (CCM) is reportedly preparing to hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday to allow the screening of Ridely Scott’s “Exodus: Gods and Kings” in Morocco.
According to sources quoted by le360 news website, English director of the biblical epic has agreed to remove the controversial scene in which god is being depicted as a child during the period of revelation to the prophet Moses.
“Ridely Scott has accepted that the governing body of Moroccan cinema takes away the controversial scene” in order to allow its screening in Moroccan cinemas, the same source added.
Exodus was banned from Moroccan movie theaters for embodying God. It was also banned in Egypt and the UAE for historical inaccuracies.
