Rabat – The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has unveiled a new era for women’s football in Morocco with the appointment of Spanish coach Jorge Vilda.

Vilda is set to lead the women’s national football team through the next phase, taking over from the accomplished Reinald Pedros.

As the former coach’s tenure comes to a close, the FRMF acknowledges Pedros’ outstanding achievements, including guiding the team to the second round of the World Cup.

In a noteworthy twist, the renowned Velda Rodríguez brings with him a wealth of experience and success, having recently clinched the Women’s World Cup title with the Spanish national team in the last edition. This significant feat on the global stage makes his appointment an exciting development for Moroccan women’s football.

The decision to appoint Rodríguez underscores the FRMF’s commitment to developing and promoting women’s football in Morocco. The federation has long sought to raise the profile of the women’s national team and compete at the highest levels of the sport.

Reinald Pedros, the outgoing coach, played a pivotal role in advancing Moroccan women’s football during his tenure. The team’s qualification for the second round of the World Cup was a significant achievement, and his dedication to the sport in Morocco is widely appreciated.

‘Mr. Pedros has been an exemplary coach and leader for our women’s national football team,’ El Amraoui stated. ‘We thank him for his unwavering commitment and hard work, and we wish him success in his future endeavors.’
