‘Christmas Massacre’: Israeli Occupation Forces Kill Over 100 Civilians in Central Gaza

Rabat – Israeli occupation forces sparked a new uproar for launching new airstrikes targeting civilians in the Al Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza.

According to Al Jazeera, the new aggression killed at least 100 people in the past 12 hours, marking the eve of Christmas.

The “vast majority” of the victims were women and children.”

“The bombs fell on homes and buildings… destroying neighborhoods and infrastructure, such as roads leading in and out of the refugee camps,” the news outlet added.

Correspondents from Al Jazeera stressed that the scale of Israeli air raids has increased in magnitude since the UN Security Council resolution adopted on Friday last week.

The new deadly strikes sparked uproar worldwide, with many describing the situation as a “Christmas Eve massacre.”

“Israel commits a Christmas Eve massacre, murdering over 80 civilians in one strike. Body parts of men, women, children & babies scattered everywhere in Maghazi refugee camp,” one commenter said on X, formerly Twitter.

Many individuals shared disturbing videos of Palestinian civilians wrapped in plastic bags. X users also shared hashtags, including the #Neverforget hashtags to condemn Israel’s disastrous war n Palestinian civilians.

“On the eve of Christmas, Israel is committing one massacre after another against besieged Gazans who are also lacking water and food. Meanwhile, the global north including its leaders, enablers of the genocide, are celebrating and enjoying dinner tables filled with food and wine,” a commenter wrote.

Another one shared the same frustration, describing the Israeli occupation forces’ raid as a “horrible massacre” targeting a heavily populated residential area in central Gaza.

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) condemned the killing of Palestinian civilians, describing the situation as an “ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing.”

The council also urged US President Joe Biden to urge Israel to end its bloody assault.

“The Biden administration’s callous indifference to – and active support for – the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing being carried out by the far-right Netanyahu government will stain our nation’s international reputation for generations to come,” said  CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper in a statement.
