Marrakech – CIH BANK has recently introduced CODE 212, a new offering aimed at simplifying remote banking services for Moroccans residing abroad.
According to a statement received by Morocco World News (MWN), the service seeks to address the needs of Moroccan expatriates by enabling them to open and manage bank accounts online, as well as conduct quick money transfers.
With CODE 212, users can open accounts entirely online, removing the necessity to visit a physical branch. The offering provides free account maintenance and bank card fees, which remain free for the lifetime of the account.
A notable feature of CODE 212 is its foreign account aggregation service. This service allows users to manage all their bank accounts, whether held with CIH BANK or other European financial institutions, through the CIH Mobile application.
Users can add European accounts to their CIH Mobile space, view real-time balances and transaction histories, and make instant, fee-free transfers from their European accounts to their CIH BANK account.
CIH BANK has also established a dedicated Customer Relations Center for Moroccans worldwide to provide more information on the CODE 212 offering and assist with any inquiries.
Last March, CIH BANK partnered with Google to offer Google Pay to its clients in Morocco, allowing Mastercard cardholders to use the contactless payment method via Android smartphones and Wear OS devices.
This follows the bank’s introduction of Apple Pay in July 2023, making it the first Moroccan banking group to offer this service.
CIH BANK reported strong performance in 2023, with consolidated net income rising 9.3% to MAD 776.9 million and net banking income growing 27% to MAD 4.46 billion.
The bank continued to finance the national economy and promote financial inclusion, particularly for women and young people, while expanding its branch and ATM network.
