Rabat – A senior White House official has raised alarms over Iran’s potential plans to launch a ballistic missile attack on Israel, describing the situation as urgent and dangerous.
During an interview with Al Jazeera, the official revealed that the United States has gathered intelligence indicating an imminent threat from Iran.
“We are actively supporting defensive preparations to defend Israel against this attack,” the official stated. They also issued a warning that a direct military strike from Iran would lead to “severe consequences” for Tehran.
IOF spokesperson Daniel Hagari confirmed Israel’s readiness to respond to any Iranian attack, adding that their air defense systems are fully operational.
Iran has vowed retaliation for the recent deaths of its military leaders, as well as Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on southern Lebanon last week’
The Iranian embassy in Lebanon reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to supporting the Lebanese resistance, insisting it remains unaffected by external pressures.
“The influential role of Iran will become more and more clear to the world when the star of victory over Zionist terrorism shines,” the statement said. “Iran is continuing its approach steadfastly, unaffected by all the noise that is happening.”
These developments come as Israeli forces have intensified attacks on Lebanon, including air raids on Beirut, claiming the lives of hundreds of civilians.
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) has announced that its troops are preparing to conduct a “limited” incursion into southern Lebanon to target Hezbollah strongholds. Meanwhile, Hezbollah disputed the claim and said that Israeli ground troops have not entered Lebanese soil.
