Rabat – The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) has started a regional tour to meet with local officials, representatives of Regional Tourism Councils (CRTs), and key players in the tourism sector.

Supported by the National Confederation of Tourism, the initiative aims to promote Morocco as a leading destination both nationally and internationally, said ONMT in a press release.

The office plans to do so through strengthening ties with professionals in the field, discussing opportunities and challenges in the sector, as well as aligning efforts among all stakeholders.

During the tour, the ONMT seeks to share its plans and upcoming actions tailored to each region. These meetings are also set to provide a platform for local stakeholders to share their needs and suggestions, which would help the office adapt its initiatives to local realities.

“This proactive approach reflects the ONMT’s commitment to work hand-in-hand with regional actors and professionals to stimulate sustainable, inclusive growth of the tourism sector in Morocco,” added the statement.

The tour begins today Friday in Marrakech, a key Moroccan tourism destination, and will continue to cover all regions of the country.

Key topics for discussion will include the sector’s strategic plan, marketing strategies, and commercial efforts in priority markets. These efforts aim to achieve sustainable growth for all 12 regions of Morocco by respecting the unique strengths and opportunities each one offers, noted the statement.

The program includes meetings with hoteliers, travel agencies, transport companies, restaurateurs, and CRT representatives. These discussions will help identify local needs, opportunities, and challenges while gathering proposals to boost tourism in each region.

The ONMT sees this tour as a way to position Morocco’s regions as pillars of the country’s tourism industry. This initiative also aims to inspire and unite local stakeholders around a shared vision.

The ONMT’s efforts seem to be yielding remarkable results. The country surpassed its tourism target by attracting 17.4 million visitors by the end of 2024, achieving the milestone two years ahead of the 2026 goal.
