Rabat – Morocco is “ready” to deliver an unforgettable Africa Cup of Nations in 2025. With just a year to go, the country is pulling out all the stops to ensure a top-tier tournament for fans, players, and teams, said the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in a report today.
The TotalEnergies AFCON 2025 promises to be a celebration of African football at its finest. “Morocco is ready,” CAF officials said. Morocco has the stadiums, the passion, and the experience to make this one competition that will go down as the best in the history books.
In regards to its stadiums, Morocco boasts an impressive lineup. Casablanca’s Stade Mohammed V will once again steal the show after it hosted the AFCON final game in 1988.
Rabat’s Moulay Abdellah Stadium is bigger and better after recent upgrades. Then there’s Tangier’s Ibn Batouta Stadium, Marrakech and Agadir’s Grand Stadiums.
CAF is confident Morocco will “shine” on the global stage. “They have done it before, and they’ll do it again,” said one official. Morocco has a track record of hosting major events like the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2022 Women’s AFCON.
Morocco is actively making preparations for travelling for visitors to be a breeze. The country boasts international airports in all its host cities, with new routes for Royal Air Maroc, as well as foreign airlines ensuring smooth connections.
Once football fans arrive in the country, Al Boraq high-speed trains and a vast road network make travel between cities fast and hassle-free. Additionally, the country has recently announced a full upgrade of its rail connections, with a plan to add 43 new stops by 2040.
From luxury hotels to budget-friendly stays, Morocco has something for everyone. CAF officials said Moroccan hospitality is a one-off: “It’s more than football. It’s about making every visitor feel at home,” they remarked.
The tournament runs from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, and will feature 24 of Africa’s best nations.
“This isn’t just a tournament. It’s a celebration of African talent, culture, and unity,” CAF said. Morocco is eager and prepared to put on a show that will “resonate far beyond Africa.”
