Rabat – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced today an A-list celebrity lineup that will take part in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 draw on Monday.
The draw ceremony will feature music shows that will celebrate African football and music.
The stage will feature different artists, including Morocco’s Hatim Ammor, Congolese icon Maitre Gims, and Moroccan superstar producer and musician RedOne.
CAF said that the three artists will embody the spirit of AFCON, expressing the significance of the event.
Delving into more details on each artist’s portfolio, CAF recalled that Nadir Khayat, who goes by his stage name RedOne, has collaborated with renowned celebrities like Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Nicki Minaj.
“His products, which include hits like ‘Poker Face’ and ‘On the Floor,’ have earned him multiple accolades, including three Grammy Awards,” CAF added.
The draw ceremony will take place on Monday at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat at 7 p.m. Moroccan time.
“The Final Draw ceremony, a symbolic starting point for the competition, will see the 24 qualified teams divided into six first-round groups for the finals,” CAF said in a previous statement, noting that the event will bring together iconic figures from the African football scene as well as other sports legends and international media.
Morocco will host the 2025 AFCON this year in December, bringing 24 teams and tens of thousands of fans from across the world.
The last time that Morocco hosted the AFCON was in 1988, which saw only eight teams compete. Cameroon emerged victorious against Nigeria in the final.
On Saturday, CAF also unveiled the official logo of the 2025 AFCON. The logo perfectly reflects Morocco’s cultural heritage, depicting the iconic AFCON cup covered in zellige, the country’s traditional form of mosaic art.
