Rabat – Moroccan attacker Noa El Hamdaoui completed a season-long loan move to MVV Maastricht from Excelsior Rotterdam this Wednesday.
The 18-year-old forward joins the squad immediately to compete in the 2026-2027 campaign.
The loan agreement keeps the player in Maastricht through June 30, 2027, according to an official statement by MVV Maastricht. The transfer contains no purchase option, allowing the athlete to gain valuable playing time before returning to his parent club.
The young prospect developed through the youth setup at Excelsior Rotterdam before spending three years at Sparta Rotterdam. He returned to Excelsior in 2022 to continue his football formation. The forward demonstrated consistent progress across youth levels, moving from the Under-17 squad to the Under-21 team in July 2024.
He reached a major career milestone on his 18th birthday in October 2025. The player signed his first professional contract with Excelsior Rotterdam during that month. The agreement secures his services through mid-2027, with an option to extend the deal for an additional year.
Shortly after signing, he made his senior debut in top-flight Dutch football as a second-half substitute against Go Ahead Eagles. He maintained strong form during summer pre-season matches, scoring twice in a 2-0 victory against FC Dordrecht.
MVV Maastricht views the signing of Moroccan attacker El Hamdaoui as a vital boost to their offensive lineup. The club management highlighted his speed, agility, and goal-scoring instincts as key assets for the upcoming matches. The coaching staff will integrate him into regular training sessions right away.
Excelsior Rotterdam maintains full control over the long-term future of the young forward. Club executives believe the loan spell in the Dutch second tier will enhance his tactical awareness and physical endurance. He will return to Rotterdam upon the completion of his loan spell in June 2027
