Rabat – In the days following a fragile ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Israeli aggression continues to hunt down Palestinians, now in the occupied West Bank.
Israeli occupation forces launched several attacks on the northern city of Jenin. The ongoing raids have left at least 12 Palestinians dead and dozens injured since Tuesday, according to local sources.
The United Nations has expressed concern, warning that these attacks could cause more casualties and severe damage to essential infrastructure.
Israeli occupation forces launched their latest offensive in Jenin, an area that has frequently seen clashes between the occupation forces and Palestinian groups, killing two more Palestinians. The raid marks the continuation of violence despite hopes for calm after the Gaza ceasefire, which began on Sunday.
Palestinian group Hamas reported “fierce clashes” between its fighters and Israeli troops in the West Bank villages of Arrabeh and Fahma, located southwest of Jenin.
The violence has rendered parts of the Jenin refugee camp “nearly uninhabitable,” according to Palestinian reports. Israeli focus actions have included mass displacement orders for some neighborhoods as they forced families to evacuate under dire conditions.

In addition to the deadly raids, Israeli occupation forces have arrested at least 22 Palestinians across the West Bank, including in the governorates of Hebron, Nablus, Tulkarem, Ramallah, and Jerusalem.
The arrests were accompanied by the destruction of homes and infrastructure, as well as physical abuse during interrogations, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has described the situation in Jenin as critical. Medics are working tirelessly to treat the wounded and evacuate elderly residents and trapped families. However, ambulances have been blocked by Israeli forces from reaching some of the injured, according to Al Jazeera.
The Israeli raids come just days after the ceasefire in Gaza brought a temporary sense of relief to Palestinians. However, this shift in violence to the West Bank has dashed Palestinians’ hopes for lasting peace.
